A Year-Round Adventure
One of the exceptional aspects of the Coral Beaches of Applecross is their beauty throughout the year. Whether it's the lush greenery of spring, the vibrant hues of summer, the fiery foliage of autumn, or the serene, snow-covered landscape of winter, each season presents its unique charm. As we embark on our journey, we'll traverse a variety of habitats, each with its own character and secrets waiting to be discovered.
Bog: Our walk begins in the tranquil surroundings of a Highland bog. This seemingly barren landscape is alive with biodiversity. Learn from our Ranger about the unique flora and fauna that thrive in this seemingly desolate environment, and appreciate the subtle beauty it holds.
Woodland: As we progress, the path leads us through enchanting woodlands. Here, the ancient trees whisper stories of times gone by. You'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the peaceful ambiance and perhaps glimpse the elusive wildlife that calls these woods home.
The Coral Beaches: The crown jewel of our journey, the Coral Beaches, awaits at the journey's end. Gaze upon the 'coral' sands, which, despite their name, are actually composed of sun-bleached shell fragments. Discover the secrets of these unique sands and learn about the treasures that wash up on these pristine shores through beachcombing.
Panoramic Views and Beyond
Our guided walk not only immerses you in nature but also rewards you with panoramic vistas of the surrounding islands. From the Coral Beaches, you'll have the opportunity to admire breath-taking views across the water, including the stunning Isle of Skye, the enchanting Raasay, and the rugged Rona.
