Creating a buzz at Kinlochbervie Primary School
Educational Visit Summary: Invertebrates and Bumblebees
We were delighted that Donald Mitchell our High Life Ranger, was able to visit Kinlochbervie school for an engaging and informative morning session focused on invertebrates, with a special emphasis on bumblebees. The session was both educational and fun, providing our students with a hands-on learning experience.
1. Drawing from Memory: The children started by drawing a bumblebee from memory. This initial activity sparked their creativity and set the stage for the learning to come.
2. Interactive Game: Donald then conducted an interactive game related to bees and inveratebrates which showed the parts of the creature. This engaging activity helped in reinforcing the children’s interest and understanding of the subject.
3. Reflective Drawing: Post the learning session, children drew another bumblebee/insect, this time incorporating what they had learned. The comparison of the before and after drawings clearly demonstrated the impressive learning and understanding gained by the students.
Outcomes:
- The children showcased remarkable improvement in their understanding of invertebrates, particularly bumblebees.
- Theses before-and-after drawings are a testament to the effective learning that took place.
Special Thanks:
A big shoutout to the class teacher at Kinlochbervie for facilitating this wonderful learning opportunity and to Donald, the High Life Ranger, for delivering an exceptional educational experience. The children not only learned a lot but also had a great time! We look forward to more such enriching sessions that combine learning with fun activities, helping our students to grow and learn in a dynamic environment.
Well Done, Children! Keep Buzzing with Knowledge!
